Purpose & key responsibilities of the role:

We are looking for a qualified Environmental Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will be responsible for performing field inspections, designing employee-training programs, and preparing detailed reports. Our ideal candidate will be a qualified expert with an excellent understanding of environmental and natural sciences. Candidates will demonstrate outstanding communication skills, with an aptitude to understand and interpret data. Your ultimate goal will be to ensure our compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Lenzing Group environmental standards.

  • Develop and recommend solutions to support Lenzing group environmental policy and standards.
  • Design and implement effective employee training programs related to environmental matters.
  • Investigate incidents, identify defects, suggest remedial measures and monitor the implementation of measures determined.
  • Support the site Integrated ISO Management System by providing relevant training, audits, and inspections.
  • Prepare, file, and manage permits as required.
  • Create and submit timely and accurate environmental reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring activities, and analysis including soil, water and air quality testing.
  • Ensure tracking and maintenance of environmental data for reporting purposes.
  • Remain current on environmental regulations as they affect the plant and provide recommendations on compliance programs.

Our expectations for this exciting role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or relevant field.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in environmental compliance and management within a manufacturing setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental laws and regulatory requirements, interpretations, and health and safety programs.
  • Foster a culture of environmental responsibility and awareness among employees.
  • Aptitude to solve problems quickly with advanced conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
