Wood, the perfect all-rounder

At our biorefineries in Lenzing (Austria), Paskov (Czech Republic) and Indianópolis (Brazil), we use wood as a renewable raw material source for the production of pulp, fibers and other products. We aim to utilize and commercialize as many of the wood’s natural components as possible by converting them into pulp for Lenzing fibers and additional products for various industries.

At the Lenzing site, wood components are further processed into biorefinery products such as acetic acid and xylose, which serve as valuable inputs for other industries. For example, acetic acid is used in food processing applications, while xylose can be further processed into low-calorie sweeteners.

After the material use of wood, the energy contained in the remaining biomass is used to operate our facilities. This contributes significantly to the energy supply of our biorefineries and enables a high degree of energy self-sufficiency.
