CDP is a global non-profit organization that provides an assessment framework for companies on environmental disclosure and performance in the areas of climate change, forests and water security. Lenzing achieved CDP’s Triple “A” rating for the fourth time and was included on the CDP Corporate A List in all three categories.

EcoVadis assesses companies on environmental, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement topics in the supply chain. Lenzing was awarded Platinum status, and, according to EcoVadis ranks among the top one percent of companies assessed.

The scientifically based rating concept of ISS ESG applies an industry-specific focus to environmental, social and governance topics.Lenzing holds ISS ESG Prime Status with a B- rating. According to ISS ESG’s industry classification, the company is positioned among the higher-rated companies in the “Paper and Forest Products” sector.

MSCI evaluates companies based on a range of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors that may affect their long-term resilience and risk profile. Lenzing currently holds an MSCI ESG Rating of A.

Sustainanlytics assesses publicly listed companies on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) topics. Lenzing is currently rated Low Risk by Sustainalytics.

Since 2005, listed Austrian companies have been assessed annually against environmental and social criteria as part of the VÖNIX sustainability index. Companies that meet the index requirements are included in the index. Lenzing has been included in the VÖNIX index every year since its inception and was ranked first in the “Industrials” category in 2024.

The EU Ecolabel is the European Union’s official voluntary label for products meeting defined environmental criteria.
EU Ecolabel products have a reduced environmental impact across multiple stages of the product life cycle.

The USDA Certified Biobased Product label is a certification mark of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

LENZING™ fibers are USDA certified Biobased Products.
LENZING™ fibers meet minimum USDA certified biobased content for “Intermediates – Fibers and Fabrics”. The certification confirms the product’s biobased content and supports the use of renewable raw materials as an alternative to fossil-based resources.

LENZING™ Lyocell, Modal and Viscose standard fibers are certified by TÜV AUSTRIA for their ability to biodegrade in soil, freshwater and marine environment as well as being compostable in home applications and industrial facilities.

Our OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified products have been independently tested for harmful substances according to extensive scientific criteria that go beyond global regulations.

The wood used as raw material for LENZING™ fibers is sourced from certified or controlled origins meeting FSC or PEFC standards.

Responsible Care specifies a high industrial standard for chemical companies. The Lenzing site has been certified by Responsible Care for the last 20 years. 

ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certify compliance with internationally recognized standards for quality, environmental, and occupational health & safety management. They demonstrate a structured approach to continuous improvement, sustainability, and workplace safety.

All of Lenzing’s pulp and fiber production facilities are certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.

FKT “Medically Tested – Tested for Toxins” is a label for products, that have been tested for potentially harmful substances and skin compatibility according to defined criteria. The label combines testing for harmful substances with assessments of human-ecological compatibility to help ensure a high level of consumer safety.

ISEGA certification verifies that a material has been assessed for compliance with relevant food-contact regulations and is suitable for intended food-contact applications. LENZING™ Lyocell and Viscose standard fibers for nonwovens have been awarded ISEGA certification based on such an assessment.

The Lenzing and Heiligenkreuz sites (Austria) are Authorized Economic Operators (AEO). We hold the AEO-F (Full) certificate, which covers the areas of customs (AEO-C) and security (AEO-S). Due to this certification we are registered as a secure company in the supply chain. The certificate is valid throughout the EU and is also recognized in the USA, Switzerland, Norway, Japan, China and Canada.
