Purpose & key responsibilities of the role

  • Develop and execute regional BD strategies across segments based on competition, market and customer analyses
  • Establish, maintain, develop strong regional BD teams; reinforce regional commercial excellence to deliver customer intimacy; motivate, empower, develop regional TM teams
  • Develop and maintain regular contact/networking/partnerships with brands/retailers; support them in all aspects related to our fibers (e.g. positioning, supply chain, new developments, etc.); active development and management of brand accounts (development of account plans, strategies, goals, targeted activities, documentation of plans & progress, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain contact/networking/partnerships with the supply chain; identify and develop new supply chain partners; actively support development and commercialization of products with Lenzing fibers (e.g. positioning, sourcing, construction, pricing), active development and management of secondary accounts (plans, strategies, goals, targeted activities, documentation of plans & progress, etc.)
  • Promote Lenzing fiber portfolio and product innovations to supply chain and brands (e.g. visits, presentations, seminars, panel discussion, workshops, industry events, podcasts, keynotes, trade fairs, webinars, etc.); initiate co-branding opportunities with brand accounts
  • Monitor industry/macro trends impacting our business (e.g. consumer trends, raw material shifts, sustainability, transparency, etc.) and stay up to date regarding the use of our fibers and sales volume development across customers, products, segments and regions
  • Screen the market to identify short-/mid-/long-term growth opportunities and initiatives (customers, products, segments, regions, applications, etc.); development of go-to-market strategies for new products and mid-/long-term volume growth plans and initiatives
  • Active, targeted development of products/applications across segments (e.g. showcasing of fabrics/garments containing Lenzing fibers to supply chain and brands/retailers)
  • Closely collaborate with regional TM (e.g. combined customer visits, identification and develop new customers/applications), Marketing & Branding (e.g. development of key activities and focus areas), Sales (e.g. customer development, supply chain set up), Product Management (e.g. new product introductions, trials, input for global roadmaps, regional roll-out, etc..), Global Segment Heads (e.g. global initiatives, best practices, input for global roadmaps, regional roll-out etc.) and BD colleagues in other regions (supply chain set up, etc.)
  • Maintain close ties with key secondary stakeholders (e.g. industry associations, NGOs, universities, fashion schools, etc.)




Our expectations for this exciting role

  • University degree in business management or equivalent or university degree (or equivalent) with specialization in fibers/textiles
  • Minimum 10 years total experience in the textile industry with at least 5 years in Sales.
  • Commercial skills, negotiation skills, leadership skills, financial understanding, supply chain knowledge, retail knowledge, sourcing knowledge, networking, effective communication, technical understanding of fibers and downstream processes
