Evaluations

Our performance under scrutiny

Efforts and achievements

We are not driven by awards and external recognition. Nonetheless, we are proud of the recognition our efforts and achievements in sustainability received by world-leading ESG rating agencies and certificate authorties.

Our certifications, ESG ratings and audits are important to us. They serve as the basis for us to ensure transparency, and above all confidence in our promise to produce in a sustainable and high-quality manner - and also to responsibly deal with the precious resources of our Earth and to protect the environment.

Our ESG ratings create transparency and show that not only we think our performance is good, but that external agencies and institutions also give us good marks in many areas.

The annual scoring process by CDP, a global non-profit environmental organization, is widely recognized as the gold standard for corporate environmental transparency. Lenzing achieved “Climate A” for four years in a row, as well as “Forest A-” and “Water B” ratings for demonstrating strong transparency and integration of environmental considerations into its business strategy.

EcoVadis has defined the goal of promoting good environmental and social standards on the basis of a CSR performance monitoring within the supply chain. This helps companies to become more sustainable. Lenzing was granted a Platinum rating, and according to EcoVadis ranks among the top one percent of companies.

The scientifically based rating concept of ISS ESG puts an industry-specific focus on non-financial indicators and thus encompasses all relevant environment, social and governance issues. ISS ESG upgraded Lenzing to B- “Prime Status” in 2022, positioning Lenzing within the top decile of the “Paper and Forest Products” sector. Lenzing still holds this status.

The MSCI rating takes account of environmental, social and governance factors in the investment decision-making process alongside financial factors. The focus of this rating is sustainable and socially responsible investments. Lenzing was recently honored with an A-rating.

Sustainanlytics assesses publicly listed companies on the basis of their achievements in the fields of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG). Every year Lenzing positively stands out in the industry with its grades in this rating.

Since 2005, listed Austrian companies have been assessed once a year on the basis of around 100 environmental and social criteria. The best companies are included in the VÖNIX index. Lenzing was there without interruption from the start and received in 2024 first place in “Industrials” category.
