Lenzing Fibers Grimsby is seeking to appoint a full-time Supply Chain Manager, initially on a 2-year fixed term contract. This newly created role within the Logistics team will involve supporting the Head of Production & Product Management, whilst working closely with the Logistics Manager to optimise personnel, plant & equipment in order to ensure that site safety, quality, output, OTIF and budget targets are achieved.
The Supply Chain Manager will also direct and coordinate Production Support Team resources.
Key tasks and main accountabilities:
Leading the Production Support Team & Supervisor, ensuring that all day-to-day work activities (including workplace safety and HR-related matters), are accomplished
Managing the warehousing, movement and inventory control of raw material, product, and waste; and supervising the activities of key contract companies for the areas of warehousing, workplace transport and waste
Overseeing pulp inventory management, storage, and release processes, proactively preventing or escalating potential demurrage costs.
Implementing a first-in, first-out (FIFO) method for raw material and inventory control
Handling the purchase requisitioning and goods receipting processes for applicable goods and services
Deputising for the Logistics Manager when required, including production planning and management of the shipping and logistics functions
Ideally educated to Further Education level (preferably in a relevant discipline); and an IOSH Managing Safely qualification or equivalent would be an advantage
Proven ability to lead and manage operational teams effectively, in a positive and constructive manner; and to communicate and facilitate feedback
Experience in using SAP and Microsoft Packages
Knowledge of the best operating practices for workplace transport
Ability to positively develop the organisation’s safety and quality culture, while working to strict deadlines
