Purpose & key responsibilities of the role

The AI Engineer is responsible for designing, building and operating AI-based solutions that create measurable business value. The role focuses on developing, integrating, and maintaining AI and Generative AI applications, working closely with business stakeholders, data teams and IT to ensure scalable, secure and compliant AI solutions across the organization.

  • You will design, develop, and deploy AI and Generative AI solutions from prototype to production.

  • You will implement AI services using modern architectures (e.g. APIs, microservices, containerized deployments).

  • You will convert AI models into existing business applications and processes.

  • You will work with structured and unstructured data sources to enable AI use cases.

  • You will collaborate with business units to translate requirements into technical solutions.

  • You will ensure AI solutions meet security, governance, and Responsible AI standards.

  • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of the AI platform and tooling.

Our expectations for this exciting role
  • You hold Bachelor or Master Degree in Data Science, AI, Statistics, Computer Science.

  • You have solid experience in software engineering with a focus on AI or ML solutions as well as with Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering.

  • You own strong programming skills (e.g. Python, JavaScript, or similar).

  • You are experienced with AI / ML frameworks and libraries (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, etc.).

  • You understand data pipelines, APIs, and system integration.

  • You´ve worked with cloud or on-prem AI platforms and containerization (e.g. Docker).

  • You are aware of AI security, data privacy, and compliance requirements.

  • You are fluent in English as well as having B2 German language skills

The monthly gross salary for this position is according to collective agreement in the chemical industry based on 38 working hours/week at least EUR 3.750**.-** with a willingness to overpay – depending on qualifications and experience.
Additionally you will also take part in the Lenzing bonus system.
