Global Category Manager - Chemicals

Purpose & key responsibilities of the role

  • You will purchase defined categories to secure the production units according to the internal, commercial, technical and legal requirements (negotiation, contract management, disposition and claim management)
  • You will lead Global Category Management: develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with cost- and risk control for selected global categories aligned with purchasing-related rules
  • You will conduct negotiations by using Lenzing Supplier-Relation-Management (SRM)-system
  • You will identify and implement savings potentials in the defined category groups as well as a correct description and tracking in the Lenzing PIM (Purchase Initiative Management)-system
  • You will plan the annual budgets for the defined categories and secure to keep the budget.
  • You will conduct global market research to detect market opportunities and derive decision base


Our expectations for this exciting role

  • You hold an advanced Chemical, Commercial or Industrial Engineering degree or a Bachelor's degree with relevant business experience
  • You have advanced purchasing experience within Chemicals, excellent negotiation and analytical skills, intercultural awareness and a result-oriented, proactive approach
  • You bring effective skills in SAP and MS Office, cost breakdown structures, international law/contracting and tools for supplier development programs
  • You are a team player as well as a responsible, independent, resilient and assertive character
  • You have excellent communication skills in English

The monthly gross salary for this position is according to collective agreement in the chemical industry based on 38 working hours/week at least EUR xxx.- with a willingness to overpay – depending on qualifications and experience.
Additionally you will also take part in the Lenzing bonus system.
We offer flexible working time and remote working options.
