Category Manager - Warehouse Purchasing

Purpose & key responsibilities of the role

  • You will drive Category Management and global savings projects in various categories like warehousing (Identify, lead and realize savings projects including market analysis and conduct inquiries)
  • You will prepare and conduct negotiations for global warehouse demands, including the documentation of commercial agreements
  • You will be responsible for Global Category Management for the assigned category groups, having functional responsibility for site Purchasing Specialists
  • You will conduct requests for quotations & proposals 
  • You will work with internal stakeholders to manage claims and qualify new suppliers, assessing their technological competence, manufacturing capacity, reliability, etc




Our expectations for this exciting role

  • You hold an advanced Commercial, Legal or Technical degree; or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant business experience
  • You have considerable experience in Warehouse Procurement, and you are proficient in cost breakdown structures, law/contracting, and tools for supplier development programs
  • You have good skills in SAP, MS Office, and data analysis
  • You are an excellent negotiator, and you have great communication skills in both German and Business English (C1)
  • You are a team player, with a proactive, results-oriented approach; a resilient, assertive character; and a responsible, independent mindset

The monthly gross salary for this position is according to collective agreement in the chemical industry based on 38 working hours/week at least EUR 4000.- with a willingness to overpay – depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally you will also take part in the Lenzing bonus system. We offer flexible working time and remote working options.
