LENZING Technik > Mechanical Construction & IS > Mechanical Construction / Industrial Services > Surface Protection

surface protection

Functions

  1. Etching
  2. Glass beading
  3. Electochemical polishing
  4. Sand blasting
  5. Paint applications

Details

Stainless and acid-resistant steel surfaces must be clean. This not applies to the high standards of optics or hygiene applications. Surface properties have a major impact on corrosion resistance in general.

That is why building and maintaining a thin and invisible protective layer, predominantly consisting of chromium oxide, is very important. For this purpose we offer a variety of mechanical and chemical methods, such as:

  1. Glass beading
  2. Etching (immersion, spray, paste)
  3. Electochemical polishing

GLASS BEADING is especially suited to the removal of oxide buildup from heating and of iron impurities. This mechanical process is used especially for applications with high visual requirements.

Generally, chemical treatment is preferable to mechanical treatment. We provide IMMERSION ETCHING. The size of our basins is cost-efficient, the temperature range lies between 20° and 65° C and the acid composition is designed according to steel type. This avoids excessive etching which leads to rough surfaces.

Very large surfaces are treated by SPRAY ETCHING. Complying with environmental, work safety and disposal regulations, we treat components of almost any size in our spray etching plant.

ELECTROCHEMICAL POLISHING guarantees you optimum corrosion resistance. The material is provided with high gloss and balanced micro profile, meeting the highest standards of hygiene and aesthetics.

Protect not only stainless and acid-resistant steel from corrosion, but also conventional steel types and cast metal applications with our services, such as:

  1. Sand blasting
  2. Paint applications
