The supervisory board of Lenzing AG today announced that they will propose Peter Untersperger as their new chairman as of 1 January 2009 to the company's management board. Peter Untersperger currently is head of finance and will succeed Thomas Fahnemann, who is to join RHI AG.

Designers at the ECO Textile AWARD 08 / Lenzing Botanic – Austria’s first eco-fashion design competition opted for TENCEL®, Lenzing’s lyocell fiber made from the renewable natural raw material wood. On September 5, Karin Maislinger won the first prize for her designer piece ”Brimstone Butterfly “ – convincing couture in eco-quality.

Cooperation on the development of Lyocell-based nonwoven fabrics
Lenzing, the world market leader in cellulose staple fibers, and Weyerhaeuser, one of the world’s largest forest products companies, will work together on the development of novel lyocell-based nonwoven fabrics. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 15 July 2008.

New chairman of the supervisory board Hermann Bell
The General Shareholders' Meeting of Lenzing AG approved a dividend of EUR 14.00 per share for business year 2007 (2006: EUR 10.00). Dividend value date was set for 20 June 2008 and ex-dividend day for 16 June 2008.

Lenzing’s Chinese subsidiaries, Lenzing (Nanjing) Fibers and Lenzing Fibers (Shanghai), today provided donations for the earthquake victims in the Chinese province of Sichuan. The funds are earmarked for rescue and support operations.

Lenzing’s full subsidiary, P.T. South Pacific Viscose (SPV), celebrates its 25th anniversary. The company is one of the largest producers of cellulose fibers world-wide and the second-largest production site of the Lenzing Group.

The Lenzing Group confirms the preliminary figures for 2007, released on 14 March 2008. Thanks to excellent general economic conditions, and as a consequence of the Group's dynamic expansion the result of 2007 surpasses the very good result of the previous business year.
