Lenzing AG Chairman of the Management Board Thomas Fahnemann elected CIRFS President

Thomas Fahnemann, chairman of the management board of Lenzing AG, was elected president of CIRFS on 31 May 2007 for a period of three years. CIRFS is the association of the European man-made fiber industry. Its members generate 90% of Europe's man-made fiber production (polyester, polyamide, acrylic, viscose and acetate fibers).
Thomas Fahnemann (46) succeeds Omer Sabanci, who had been CIRFS president since 2004.
Colin Purvis, director general of CIRFS, comments: "In Thomas Fahnemann CIRFS has found a president who as chairman of the management board of the Lenzing Group has proven that a European company with the right strategy can very successfully master the challenges of globalization.“

The supervisory board of Lenzing AG today announced that they will propose Peter Untersperger as their new chairman as of 1 January 2009 to the company's management board. Peter Untersperger currently is head of finance and will succeed Thomas Fahnemann, who is to join RHI AG.
