Lenzing Group donation to victims of earthquake disaster

Lenzing AG and its Indonesian subsidiary PT. South Pacific Viscose (SPV) jointly donated a total of USD 60,000 to the victims of the earthquake disaster in Indonesia.
USD 30,000 were given to the Indonesian Red Cross and another USD 30,000 to a community of the Franciscan Order focusing its relief efforts on the villages south of Yogyakarta hit particularly hard by the disaster.
PT. South Pacific Viscose has been an important Lenzing Group subsidiary for more than 20 years. The viscose fiber production plant with a staff of 1,500 is located on the main island of Java and about 400 kilometers away from of the destroyed city of Yogyakarta. The facility has not been directly affected by the catastrophe.

The supervisory board of Lenzing AG today announced that they will propose Peter Untersperger as their new chairman as of 1 January 2009 to the company's management board. Peter Untersperger currently is head of finance and will succeed Thomas Fahnemann, who is to join RHI AG.
