Sustainability Lenzing fibers live the principles of sustainability
Nature has lived the principle of environmental sustainability from the very beginning. Since support of the environment has always been high on the agenda for the Lenzing Group, this principle has been incorporated into the production of Lenzing Viscose® and TENCEL® which which are based on a sustainable raw material.
Lenzing’s wood and woodpulp are sourced from sustainable forests and certified pulp suppliers. Environmentally sound manufacturing processes in combination with the renewable resource wood are key elements of the numerous awards and certificates Lenzing has received. Lenzing is the first fiber producer awarded with the “EU-Flower”. The natural origin of the raw material wood as well as high standards for ecologically sound production at all sites enabled Lenzing to receive the EU Eco-Label award. Over the past ten years the EU Eco-Label has become a European-wide symbol for environmentally friendly products.
The TENCEL® manufacturing process was presented with the “European Award for the Environment” by the European Union due to its very low emissions during production.
