Lenzing Fibers at Techtextil Frankfurt. Engineered for technical applications.

Techtextil Frankfurt which takes place from 16th to 18th of June 2009 is an international platform for the technical fiber and fabric industry. Lenzing’s nonwovens team will be present to discuss the wide ranging properties of Lenzing Fibers to enhance process and product performance of technical applications.
Engineering fiber performance is key to realizing new market opportunities. The focus of Business Unit Nonwovens’ research and development work is placed on the technical fibers segment. Chris Potter, Technical Segment Manager is positive that “technical fibers will account for increasing future innovations and particularly for air and liquid filtration. Dialogue with our customers will continue to drive our investigations and future product developments.”

Liquid and gas filtration - Lenzing Fibers offer enhanced product life and performance

TENCEL® has the propensity to fibrillate and these circular shaped micro-fibers deliver high efficiency filtration without impairing operating performance. TENCEL® fibers find applications in a wide range of filtration end uses including cigarette filters, automotive fuel, oil filters as well as industrial air and liquid process filtration.

Lenzing Viscose® fibers have a long history of use in filtration applications including food and beverage filtration where their food contact approval is well established.

Advanced electrical devices - Lenzing Fibers enhance capacity and service life

Efficient energy storage and delivery devices employ separator papers designed to allow efficient ionic transportation but prevent short circuiting and breakdown. Such devices will find applications in everyday life from mobile phones and digital cameras to alternative fuel vehicles. Cellulose precursors - Lenzing Fibers provide exceptionally low thermal conductivity

“Fiber developments in the field of high temperature resistance is a current area of focus for our fiber developments. The cellulosic polymer backbone of TENCEL® and Lenzing Viscose® fibers offers an ideal precursor for carbon and graphite fibers used in high temperature insulation”, explains Chris Potter. Lenzing Fibers are exploited in aerospace, military and electronics industry applications. High degrees of product consistency and purity make both fibers ideally suited for high specification opportunities.
