Lenzing AG in the Voenix Sustainability-Index

For the third time Lenzing AG is within the 21 most sustainable exchange-noted companies in Austria.
The Voenix - VBV-Austrian Sustainability-Index - is a stock index, consisting of exchange noted Austrian companies, which are leaders in terms of social and ecological achievements. On 23rd of June the new composition of the VOENIX became effective. About 70 companies were analyzed and 21 have been included in the VÖNIX 2008/2009.
Sustainability is a balance between environment, society and economy without negative influence on the needs of future generations.
The Lenzing Group is engaged in a forward-looking environmental policy, which comprises social and economic aspects as well as the responsible, provident and careful use of all resources as central success criteria.
The Business Unit Nonwoven Fibers contributes actively to the lived sustainability within the Lenzing Group due to the natural advantages of Lenzing Fibers:
Wood is good Lenzing Viscose® and TENCEL® are produced from cellulose. The wood pulp, which is the raw material for Lenzing fibers, is derived from sustainably managed forest areas.
Lenzing fibers for nonwovens are naturally pure and absorbent like the cellulose they are derived from sustainably managed forest areas. |
100% biodegradable Lenzing Fibers come from nature and return to nature: Nonwoven fabrics made from Lenzing Viscose® and TENCEL® have been certified and registered by DIN CERTCO as compostable materials. |

Lenzing Nonwoven Fibers have been awarded with the “Nordic Swan“ ecolabel on 28 October 2008. The “Swan” is considered a leading certification system, which helps the entire supply chain up to the consumer to identify environmentally friendly products of high quality.
