Lenzing and Advansa: Development co-operation project to be continued
Following the success of last year’s cooperation project „Coolmax® & TENCEL® = 200 % efficiency“, Lenzing and Advansa will continue their successful co-operation project and are presenting a new development this season for the active wear sector. The two fibers ThermoºCool™ Eco from ADVANSA and TENCEL® from Lenzing allow for new textiles with an optimum performance.
Eco meets function – the motto of this co-operation These two fibers complement each other in a perfect way: ADVANSA Thermoºcool™ Eco is a new multi-functional and ecological evolution on PTT polymer based on Bio-PDO™ from replenishable raw materials. TENCEL® stands for naturalness and the highest possible moisture absorption. Both fibers are state of the art in terms of environmental technology. The combination of the two „eco-fibers“ promises various functions for the activewear sector coupled with ecological advantages. The functional advantages are the high moisture absorption capacity thanks to TENCEL® and the rapid removal of moisture thanks to Thermoºcool™ Eco. Together TENCEL® and Thermoºcool™ Eco guarantee a drier skin surface during sports activities with optimum thermo-buffering properties.
Thermoºcool™ Eco and TENCEL® - new applications Advansa and Lenzing determined perfect synergies at the very start of their co-operation project. TENCEL® is responsible for the absorption and distribution of moisture on the outer side and the multichannel fibers in Thermoºcool™ Eco ensures the rapid removal of moisture on the inner side. In the combination with TENCEL®, Thermocool® Eco ensures first-class thermobuffering properties which help to prevent post exercise chill. Active textiles for the outdoor sector are thereby optimised and can protect the sportsman from excess heat or cold. Depending on the mass per unit area in question, textiles can be designed for various applications such as thermoregulating underwear, socks or textiles offering protection and performance solution for all environmental conditions.
The new Lenzing/Advansa developments will be presented at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City in the USA for the first time.
