Lenzing FR® - the heat protection fiber

Lenzing FR® is a specialty Viscose fiber. The abbreviation FR stands for  „flame resistant“. Made from the natural raw material, wood, Lenzing FR® offers protection from heat in a wide range of different applications. Unique heat insulation properties combined with permanent flame-resistance are what make Lenzing FR® a heat protection fiber. Lenzing FR® offers protection from the following sources of heat: fire, radiant heat, electric arcs, liquid metals and flammable liquids. At the same time Lenzing FR® is pleasant to wear and keeps the body dry and cool. This property is responsible for the fiber’s ability to avoid heat stress and the accumulation of heat.

Heat stress can occur when the body temperature rises as a result of mental and physical exertion. This leads to an increase in the blood circulation and the body starts to produce perspiration. The perfect moisture management of Lenzing FR® can reduce this mortal risk in extreme situations.

Lenzing FR® protects the skin
