Lenzing AG operates a production plant for lyocell fibers at the Heiligenkreuz site. Moreover, the EMZ Energy and Media Center is located there: The EMZ is located right next to the lyocell production plant and is responsible for generating and providing steam and energy, as well as accessory energy and media for the whole site.

The EMZ is equipped with these main units:

1. Gas turbine 1 (GT1) and dedicated waste heat boiler (AHK1)
2. Gas turbine 2 (GT2) and dedicated waste heat boiler (AHK2)
3. Steam turbine
4. Steam boiler HDK1
5. Steam boiler HDK2
6. Steam boiler HDK3
7. Water treatment units for untreated water, well water, deinoized water
8. Hot water units and heating circuit water
9. Cooling unit
10. Pressurized air unit
11. Natural gas station and fuel oil tank
