Functional textiles for sportswear as well as for paramedical applications can be optimized with the properties of Lenzing PROFILEN® PTFE fibers.

Performances of Lenzing PROFILEN®:

• lowest coefficient of friction in comparison to other yarns
• hydrophobic and oleophobic
• highly temperature and chemical resistant
• abrasion resistant without losing softness
• 100 % pure PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene)

Friction coefficient

During physical activity, friction is built up between the shoes/socks and feet. The friction in combination with added perspiration causes skin irritations and blisters. By the addition of Lenzing PROFILEN^®, the reduced friction helps the skin stay dryer and results in lower skin irritations and eliminates painful blisters.

Lenzing LENOFIL® and Lenzing PROFILEN® Spun Yarns

For some of your applications, PTFE might not be the best solution. For this reason, we have enlarged our standard fluoropolymer range by:

• Lenzing LENOFIL® (multifilament yarns made of 100 % PVDF)
• Lenzing PROFILEN® Spun Yarns (various spun yarns in different blends and titers, max. amount of PTFE 32 %; e.g. PA/PTFE, PES/PTFE)
