Management changes within Lenzing Plastics

Johann Huber has been appointed managing director of Lenzing Plastics. He currently leads the business unit pulp of Lenzing AG. From July 1st 2009 he joins the management board with David Hoyland.

Wolfgang Plasser, who had previous managed Lenzing Plastics with David Hoyland, took over a position in the business unit fiber nonwovens of Lenzing AG.

Lenzing Plastics acquires US plastics producer Glassmaster

The Lenzing Group acquired the majority of the assets of US monofilament plastics producer Glassmaster through its subsidiary Lenzing Plastics GmbH. The company had been on offer after Chapter 11 proceedings.

Lenzing acquires German plastics producer Pedex

The Lenzing Group acquires the assets of German plastics producer Pedex + Co. GmbH through its subsidiary Lenzing Plastics GmbH. Pedex is a leading supplier of special filaments for industry and trade in Germany.

Expansion into carbon fiber production

The Lenzing Group expands into the production of carbon fibers, the construction material of the future. Lenzing Plastics GmbH, a subsidiary of Lenzing AG, and its German partner companies, SGL Carbon AG in Wiesbaden und Kelheim Fibres GmbH in Kelheim, concluded a joint venture, European Precursor GmbH, which is to produce primary materials for carbon fibers at the Kelheim site. The venture is pending the approval of the cartel offices.

Lenzing acquires German plastics producer

Lenzing Plastics GmbH (LPG) will acquire 100% of the German plastics producer Hahl Group GmbH, pending the approval of the national cartel authorities in Germany and Austria. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2007.

Lenzing Plastics sent Hubert Gantioler to the “London Marathon” in April 2006. He wore our Lenzing PROFILEN® marathon t-shirt and the Mono Skin™ Profilen socks from the Hilly Clothing Company. Hubert Gantioler finished at the 275th place with a time of 2 hours 42 minutes and 45 seconds.

Gerhard Pilz, the five times World Champion in tobogganing will prepare for the coming season with a high altitude training camp in Nepal including ascending the Baruntse at 7,168m.

World record in stair climbing with Lenzing PROFILEN®

On May 20th the 43 year old athlete Herbert Stadler broke the world record in stair climbing by climbing 97,704 stairs or 8000 meters of elevation in just 12 hours. Lenzing Plastics supported him by providing him with running apparels made of Lenzing PROFILEN® yarns.

New world record in cross-country skiing with Lenzing PROFILEN® socks

On February 4th 2005, Hubert Gantioler, a world championship athlete, succeeded with his world record attempt in climbing an elevation of 8335 meters in 12 hours with his cross-country skis.

Donation to St. Anna children's hospital

The policy “Donations instead of Presents” was again carried out Christmas 2004 which meant that no presents were given to the customers and employees. Our donation of € 5.000,00 was given this year to the St. Anna Children’s Hospital in Vienna.
