TENCEL® means product improvements
The cellulose fiber TENCEL® offers a host of improvements to classical textiles of combed and carded cotton by virtue of its range of different properties. A blend level of 30 % of TENCEL® is already enough to clearly improve the quality of yarns and fabrics of cotton.
Strong and better
The TENCEL® blend component significantly enhances further fabric and garment processing. With regard to the imperfection values, compared to the starting quality* improvements were attained in a range of up to 80 %. Apart from lower imperfection values, it was possible to clearly improve the yarn regularity and yarn strength.
* Comparison is based on:
- Yarns of 100 % turkish cotton (Turkey Dress), 100 % Pima and blends with TENCEL® MICRO with a yarn fineness of Ne 60 / Ne 80.
- Yarns of 100 % Indian cotton (Shankar 6) blended with TENCEL® Standard.
Regular and pure
Pure nature of.

Other advantages of TENCEL® are the regular and uniform fiber count and staple length. TENCEL® does not show any impurities at all which is not the case with cotton. Finer and more regular yarns lead to greater productivity in yarn and fabric production.
High-Capacity and production
Wide range of applications for TENCEL® blends.

Tests have shown that the maximum yarn strengths of TENCEL®/cotton blended yarns are attained with a lower yarn twist than with yarns of 100 % cotton of the same quality (combed/carded).
Versatile and universal
TENCEL®/cotton blends are ideal for the production of all kinds of fabrics such as denim, chinos, shirts/blouses, bed linen and much more. For textiles of a particularly high quality, Lenzing offers TENCEL® MICRO.
Botanic and eco-friendly
TENCEL® and organic cotton – an ecological symbiosis.

With TENCEL®, the eco fiber, it is possible to create an environmentally-friendly product. If one uses organically grown cotton instead of conventionally grown cotton for blending, the final consumer can experience a textile product with perfect ecological fibers.
