Lenzing is presenting the new fiber innovation TENCEL® C at Heimtextil in Frankfurt. After many years of research work, cosmetic properties can now be combined with the well-known skin-sensory advantages of TENCEL®.

Lenzing announces 10% fiber price increase

The Lenzing Group, world leader in man-made cellulose fibers, will adapt its fiber prices with the beginning of 2011. Prices will be raised by at least 10%, depending on the product. Price increases will take place in Textile Fibers as well as in Nonwovens. The decision was necessitated by the recent strong rise in raw material prices, in particular for dissolving pulp and chemicals required for the production of viscose, modal and TENCEL® fibers.

Lenzing fibers, set on a course of expansion

Production sites extended for both TENCEL® and Lenzing Modal®. The Lenzing group, global market leader for cellulosic fibers, plans to significantly expand its production capacities and will invest EUR 120 million in both Europe and Asia. The projects will be complete by 2011. Key measures include the expansion of pulp supply and the increase in the Modal production capacity in Lenzing (Austria), a significant expansion of the site in Heiligenkreuz (Austria) and the reconstruction of the English site for TENCEL® in Grimsby (UK).

25 % TENCEL® means a 25 % lower environmental impact

Lenzing is presenting an innovative eco denim concept TENCEL® at the Parisian trade fairs of Expofil and Texworld, which will take place from 9 to 13 February 2009.

An addition of as little as 25 % TENCEL® to a conventional cotton denim improves the environmental profile considerably. Replacing cotton with TENCEL® reduces the area under cultivation for cotton by 25 %. The consumption of water, required to grow cotton, can also be reduced by 25 %.

New feel-good brand for comforters out of Lenzing Fibers

At Heimtextil 2009 in Frankfurt, Lenzing is presenting the new „SleepFacto®“ feel-good concept. For the first time the functionality of a complete comforter is being examined. If the feel-good parameters are fulfilled, the product is given the brand.
