Xanthation

The alkali cellulose has to be sulphurised with CS2 to produce xanthate.

After weighing, the alkali-cellulose is dispatched into a wet churn, where the xanthation, i.e. the reaction of alkali-cellulose with carbon disulphide, takes place.

The homogenization of the viscose is done again in two steps, by a rough homogenizer and a fine homogenizer.
