Press Lye Filter
For continuous filtration of press lye.
Features
- Filtered fibers can be recycled
- Highly effective filtration effect
- Very reliable and stable operation
- Low power consumption
In Detail
The press lye supplied from the alkali-cellulose presses feeds the trough (1).
In the pre-washing trough (2) the filter sieve belt is continuously precoated with unfiltered press lye in order to improve the filtration effect. This effect is also improved by the installation of the pre-washing pump as a large block construction directly on the pressing lye filter trough.
Driven by the geodetic difference in pressure (H), the unfiltered pressing lye from the trough flows through the precoat filter layer and the metallic filter sieve belt (3) into the inside of the filter drum.
The filter cake is removed by a scraper, and the filtered fiber is brought to the reject slurry trough (4), from where it is fed back to the steeping process.
In order to ensure a satisfactory slipping-off of the filtered-fiber, the chute is kept moist with filtered lye by means of a spray jet (5). The continuous filter sieve belt is cleaned from the inside with the spray jet. Part of the filtered lye is used to clean the rollers of the AC-presses continuously for better operation of the presses.
The filter flowrate can be controlled by variation of the filter belt speed.
