Spin bath circulation
To keep up a proper quality of the spinbath at the spinning machine.
Equipment and process steps of the spin bath circulation
- degassing bottom tanks with pump station
- spin bath tanks with pump station for the degassed, filtered and chemically treated spin bath
- degassing and filtration systems
In Detail
Analytical instruments and metering stations for zinc and sulphuric acid are used for the chemical preparation of the spin bath.
During the spinning process, the spin bath solution is diluted as sodium hydroxide and sulphuric acid react with each other to form sodium sulphate and water. The spin bath is also diluted by water introduced into the system. During the spinning process the CS2 is released, of which a significant ammount reacts to form H2S. These two gases, together with air and CO2, are partly dissolved in the spin bath or form gas bubbles in the spin bath solution.
To ensure good fibre quality, the CS2 and H2S concentration must be reduced to a minimum.
The spin bath in the degassing bottom tank, which contains a lot of H2S and CS2, is then fed through a pump station to the spin bath degassing unit.
The spin bath that is fed to the spinning machine and flows through the spinning trough during the spinning process is subsequently collected in the degassing bottom tank. In the degassing bottom tank, the spin bath is partially degassed. The released gas, known as the rich gas, is thereby extracted and fed through a collecting system to the recovery plant.
